How it all began!

"Mommy, look! We're on TV!"

Although of course it is not real, we are very proud of our new office where we will have many great adventures in 2023.

For me, it all started 8 years ago at The Kromhout Hall. As a 22-year-old rookie, I finally got the chance to get started in the big people's world. My goal was to learn as much as possible and an event venue was perfect for that. I got to participate in many great events. From neighborhood get-togethers to major trade shows and from crazy company parties to TV recordings. What I could never have hoped for was the confidence and opportunities I was given. Being an intern and doing the "odd jobs" wasn't one of them. I was thrown right into the deep end and allowed to do my productions almost entirely on my own. Thank you Claire, best internship supervisor ever!

The 6 months flew by, but what was the next step? Going back to school didn't seem like a good plan, so I decided to become a freelancer. Before my internship was over, I had already registered with the Chamber of Commerce.

Now, not insignificantly, I still had to find assignments. Fortunately, during my internship, I had built up many connections. The most important were Yuri and Nathan from SVP Sfeerbeheer. What I started as a handy helper who could help lift standing tables (there were a lot of them...) grew into a producer. The highlight was the production of the New Year's Eve 2018/2019 fireworks show in Amsterdam. Gentlemen, thank you for everything I was able to learn from you in those 4 years.

Meanwhile, I had also graduated from Inholland University of Applied Sciences. It may have taken a little longer, because writing a thesis was not really my thing and working was much more fun. But in 2019 it was time for the next step, freelancing was fun, but I wanted more and to start my own business. That was not so easy and certainly did not go without trial and error. At the end of that year, my little brother Noah and I were The Productioneers, ready for 2020....

However, that turned out differently than expected ... something to do with a virus. So then the calendar was empty ... and now what? Fortunately, I had learned how to make television in school, so why not do those events all online? Coincidentally, our technical partner Smile wasn't so busy either, so we started working with Studio Stream together. We knew how to produce and they had a warehouse of gear and people ready to get to work. Because sitting still is not something event people are very good at! What started out as something just to keep busy turned out to be a hit. By the end of 2020 and over 150 productions later, it was time for the next step. It was time to hand over the studio baton to Jochem and return from Utrecht to our own city, Haarlem.

Just before Christmas 2020, we got the key to our first office on the Burgwal in Haarlem. The idea was to work from there, build a small studio for simple webinars and store our equipment. The main idea was not to buy a lot of equipment, because we have our partners for that. Let's just focus on producing and directing events and livestreams. Well, we knew it! The (international) projects were flying around our ears and the new equipment was unstoppable. Within a year we had outgrown our premises.

Fortunately, we found a beautiful new building in the Waarderpolder in Haarlem. The Productioneers HQ 2.0, so 2022 became a year of rebuilding, moving and more rebuilding. Because a new building also requires a new studio and direction. With all the experience we had gained over the past 2 years, we built ourselves the perfect studio and mobile livestream set. At the same time, the events also went wild again and we regularly asked ourselves: What are we really? Handyman company, technical supplier, livestream studio or event producers? And we were often asked: What do you actually do?

That brings us to 2023! Time for the next adventure! The office, studio and direction are finished, so no more remodeling for now. What will we do then? Very simple: organizing and producing (online) events. As true producers, we like to think along with our clients from the first moment to create a suitable concept. That makes our work varied and challenging, and we love it! We organize and produce physical events, from conferences to company parties of all shapes and sizes, and various online events such as webinars, talk shows or online conferences. We do this in our own studio in Haarlem, but we also take all our equipment 'on tour' throughout the Netherlands and far beyond.

On to the next 8 years full of adventure!
